Origin
Made famous by a 1985 study by Thomas Gilovich, Robert Vallone and Amos Tversky, which called the hot hand a myth. In 2018, Joshua Miller and Adam Sanjurjo showed that study had a statistical flaw, and their reanalysis found real evidence of streak shooting.
